The People's Projects

Winning The People’s Projects!

From 15th-26th May, 21 Together was part of a large initiative run by The National Lottery. This initiative was to grant money to a charity, based on the amount of votes their community gives them. We were up against four other fantastic charities, all based around the local area.

We had given a huge push on our social media channels, as well as handing out flyers and promoting for votes at our events. Our community showed us how much they care and how much pull they can generate when we all come together for something.

It was a stressful two weeks, hoping to gain enough votes to win. When voting closed, it was a tense wait to find out the results! We had done all we could and now it was a waiting game. Whatever the result was, we were proud of our whole community for everything they had done leading up to the closing of votes.

Results day came around and we were elated to find out that we were one of the lucky winners! Over 3.5 thousand people voted for us, which meant we were granted funding of £68,352. This money is being used to fund our S-Club sessions for the next year. Much needed funding, as at the time of the initiative we had no future funding in place for these sessions.

We want to use this as an opportunity to once again say thank you to everyone who has gone out to cast their vote for us. It means the world!
