This training is aimed at all staff/professionals working with a pupil with Down’s syndrome, who have not previously had any training. Equally, it will be of interest and value to people who wish to broaden their understanding of the impact of the learning profile on their child’s education, or just refresh their knowledge.
This session, led by Dr Maggie Woodhouse, is aimed at anyone supporting a child or young person with Down’s syndrome that would like to find out more about how eyes and vision differ in children with DS, and what parents and teachers need to know about how the children see.
This training, led by Symbol UK, will include discussing a variety of visual supports including: shape coding, signing, symbols, language through reading, pacers and charts.
This training day includes an overview of the learning profile associated with Down’s syndrome and its implications for social-emotional development and behaviour.
