S-Club Deal Trip

In July, our S-Club members took a day trip on the train to Deal!

They wanted to put the skills they had been learning in all of their S-Club sessions to use out in the real world.

Our young people all got on the train at Ashford International (accompanied by a few of our staff members) and started their journey down to Deal station. Upon arrival, we all took a walk through Deal town, down to the beach. With a bucket and spade in hand, the group spent time chilling in the sun on the beach, throwing and skipping stones into the sea, and some even braved a paddle!

Being in the sun and by the sea, it was only right that we all got some fish & chips, which went down a treat, of course!

A few staff members then took the young people that wanted to go to the arcades over to enjoy the budget Las Vegas (the arcade on Deal seafront). The lights and sounds without the high rollers and big stakes. Our young people enjoyed spending their money on the 2p machines, shoot em’ ups and claw machines, winning hundreds of tickets which would then allow them to claim a lollypop!

Once the wallets were empty and everyone was gamed out, it was time for some ice cream. Chocolate or bubblegum was a top choice for our young ones, with rum & raisin being popular with the staff (much to the disgust of others).

Once the ice cream was all done, it was time for a walk back to the station. Tired and with bellies full, everyone boarded the train back to Ashford International, ready to be collected by families at the other end.

This trip was great for our young people as, under supervision, it gave them the opportunity to put the skills they have been learning over the past term into practice.

We can't wait for the next day out!
